Filling screw holes in the 'glass battery tray where the onboard charger mounts and using Marine-Tex for the first time. Does it always start black and then cures to gray? Just wondering not that it matters for the piece.

It cured black. So now I know.

It's magic. When it's sanded it turns gray. I need finer grit. Back to the hardware store.

If you do it again try putting clear packing tape over the marine tek sticky side down. Leave until the marine tek hardens. A lot less sanding this way.

It really stayed black in color but doesn't really matter. I'll see how it drills and taps today. I think it has a tendency to flex and the PORT side works loose while the STBD stays tight kind of chewing at the fiberglass with #8 SS screws. Maybe rubber washers would alleviate that with smaller fender washers? Carries a lot of weight with GP 27 Batt. and the onboard charger attached.

That sounds good. The Dremel tool made short work out of smoothing it down without too many scratches.
