 Roberts Champs ? Pattern or Spots?

Since I only fish Ray Roberts once a year I had a good practice on Friday, found a strong pattern in 2 areas of the lake close to each other, i set on the first fish 6 pounder then several bites i shook off, Felling good about going into Sat.
Sat started on first area nothing, fished it until 10am then off to 2nd area, no bites at 12, then at 12:30 caught first keeper, 15" fish, then about 20 minutes later caught 2nd keeper 15" fish, then a short fish , around 1:30 I hooked a big fish but it pulled off . Then 10 minutes later caught a 7.89 . Ended up with 3 fish for around 11 pounds, I feel i was on a winning Pattern, the big fish were in this area but did not get the bites.
My question is did the top 5 catch the fish off a pattern? Or off a spot? IYO (brush piles/road beds? Just wondering.

Why would anyone talk about how they caught their fish with another 100+ boat tournament this weekend?

Geez-Basschamps last week, TTO this week and Regional High School tournament on the 20th. 3 weekends in a row of 150+ boats. Not including the higher-than-normal weekend and weekday traffic.

Regionals for THSBA on both the 20th and 21st. And practice day for both on June 19th..If you catch on fish you might win..

Yep tournament fishing has gotten WAY out of hand. I fish one every now and then but mostly fish for fun. I wish they would issue a finite number of permits for tournaments on a given lake each year and when the lake maxes out for the year, you have to find a new lake to beat on. There are plenty of lakes to have tournaments on, spread them out a little.

Roberts hasn't had hardly any tournaments this year.... the lake may be beat to death but it hasnt been from tournaments. I hate to see them being held in the summer, I'm going to say its because 85 - 93 degree water temps mean higher mortality but the real reason is because I suck out there from June to November.
