Just upgraded to an ulterra with mega di/si to connect it to my solix 12. However the solix 12 will only see the DI? Any thoughts on how to configure the solix 12 properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure how to identify that. When I upgraded the Ulterra, I was relying on this information from the manual:

NOTICE: You can only view MEGA Side Imaging with a MEGA DI or MEGA SI HELIX G2N or G3N Series model and a required adapter, or with any SOLIX Series model. The built-in transducer cannot supply MEGA Down Imaging to Humminbird models that do not already have the capability. If you have a G2/G2N or a G3/G3N HELIX that is not a MEGA SI or MEGA DI model, you will still get 2D Dual Spectrum CHIRP Sonar from the transducer. SOLIX G1 and HELIX G2 and G2N units need to be running the latest software update to view sonar from motors with Built-In MEGA Imaging. You can get the latest version of software for your fish finder online on humminbird.com. Built-In MEGA SI is not supported by HELIX G1 models or other brands of fish finders

all solix units can do di with a transducer connected to it. Only a solix si unit can process si from a transducer connected to it. Any solix unit can display si from another si unit. When you turn on your unit during the boot up it will say what model you have

You can also look at the white sticker on the back where the serial number is, it should have SI in the model number

All the cables will be the same since the trolling motor connects directly to the solix unit without an adapter
