Fished the tower at the damn on and off for 5 years and nobody gave a [censored]. Well now they do. Had a guy yesterday run me off. Was just going to hit it today for 10 minutes and see 2 carts coming down the damn road and got the hell out of there. Guess I won't be fishing that maybe ever. Least for months. Never had a lot of size but usually good for a few fish when you can't catch other places.

There's a reason it has buoys around it and signs telling you to stay away. Lucky you didn't have a call made and got a ticket

I'd be ok paying the ticket. I mean I deserved it, so I'd be fine with it. I probably catch 100 fish a year there. When they aren't draining water I really can't see the harm, but bigger point is why let it ride for 5 years and now they send 2 golf carts my way. What the hell were they going to do arrest me? I'm in a boat and they're on the land. Anyway, Pool is a joke. Drunks all over party cove and I never see a warden or cop on the lake Sat or Sun afternoon. But hey, lets harass the fisherman. In fact in 5 years I've never seen a warden once on that lake. This wasn't a warden, these were core of engineer dudes that were not happy with me. I've seen the fire dept there when someone goes under and that's it.

Anyway, I'll stay away. Just want to make sure everyone else does the same. I figure I've earned the ticket but maybe others would not be real happy about it.

I watched pleasure boats pulling tubers under the walk way between the rocks and tower at Ray Roberts the last 2 weekends. Just had to shake my head. All of those towers on every lake in our area are off limits, I believe its 300 feet your supposed to stay back. Never seen it enforced.

Greg,

When I was out on Mother's Day PM I saw three different police boats out there. I agree that weekend and most weekends are a zoo and was glad to see them.

Yeh. It’s been off limits for at least 20 years that I’ve been fishing Pool. That said, there’s always someone that thinks it’s “OK” to go there. I saw a pontoon boat catch a 10lb + from the backside of the tower during a Pengelly Big Bass tourney. I watched them weigh it in, then I turned em in. Lol yep. Sho did. That was me. Losers. Cheaters! Should have listened when I said it was off limits. They didn’t win.

I admit its an easy good fish under the walkway shadow in the early part of the day.

I've also fished just outside the buoys to the edge of the channel and have a few spots in the dam area that are sometimes gold.
I remember one night 50 yards from the tower, at night, fishing some stumps. Broke two Gloomis rods on successive casts. The fish were there too but I have no clue why the rods broke.

I'm sure the raised attention is due to the multiple boaters going over dams recently. It's a bad look.
