Went out to Arrlington lake this weekend. I didn’t catch the big ones, but I did find a hole that had 10 or so small ones (on brush hog clear with gold flake) which was my first stop (around noon) and thought it was going to be a killer day as every other cast I pulled one in. After that not a single bite till late just as sun was starting to go down then they started biting again (maybe 6 more on crankbait black top white belly squarebill). All were less than 2lbs but it was a fun day at the lake close to home.

Nice report. My buddy and I have been out twice last two weeks for AM trips. Caught a couple of good keepers one pushing 4 lbs all in shallow water on Senko's and flukes. Can't seem to find fish with crankbaits especially with as many shad as I have seen around.

February 21 and 22 trips both days were cold and windy. Surface water temp both days started at 46 got up to 54 late in the day. It was hard to stay in one spot from the winds since my boat doesn’t have gps trolling motor. We tried deep shallow and in between. Seemed bass were going shallow later in the day in about 7 foot of water. Only a few but they were all packed with eggs and looked liked little footballs. Biggest one was 2.95lb caught on a dark green brush-hog Texas rigged. [Linked Image]

Nice catch! I went out there yesterday and didn't have any luck from the banks. I did see a ton of boat trailers in the Bowman Springs lot, so maybe they fared better.

April 23, 2020 hit the water about 7:30am fished shallow, mid and deep. Tossed everything I could into the water with not a single bite. I did see the carp breeding in the weeds all day long. It was nice having the lake pretty much to myself. Maybe 15 boats on the water all day when I left around 4pm.

April 26, 2020 hit the water about 6:30am started shallow no luck and just drifted to about 15 feet on points. I found one of everything but the bass. It was my first time catching a drum on crankbait. Caught a catfish on plastic. Caught some nice crappie on crankbaits, and caught a small hybrid but no large mouth bass. Anyone have some tips for getting them to bite after spawn and warmer waters? I tired fast slow shallow and deep.

Hit water about 6am water temp was 68 on surface. Wind blowing about 5-10mph so I started at some points working my way into the pockets with some jerk baits, switches to Crankbaits, jigs, Texas rigs. Around 9am I tried my homemade lure and caught a catfish just off a point. Wind started to pick up 10-25mph and surface temp was about 71 by noon. Went to the side wind was blowing to fish noting. Went to side wind was coming from nothing. A small storm rolled in about 130 so I decided to call it a day. I did manage to find some nice deep water rocks and logs that I marked up for a calmer day next time.

Burbarry,

Been about 10 days or so for me since I have been on Lake A. I have struggled mightily since the high water came in March. I caught two 6's in late February. I had one good eat by a big fish shallow trip before last but he broke me off. Two trips since, I have been skunked. I cannot figure where the bass are right now on this lake. One guy I visited with did catch 2 dinks on a CB on the east side rip rap. Hopefully someone will chime in and help us both out.

Ran across a couple of folks that fish it late winter early spring and then back in the winter. Called it a " winter " fishery. Have done okay in the fall.

Fall I do seem to have better luck. I’ve gotten into pockets of them before where every cast was a bass shallow or deep.

Last couple weekends at the lake have been slow only a couple small ones on crankbaits. Today (6-7-2020) had better luck first fish in the boat was a nice fat one just shy of 20 inches, my scale batteries were dead I would say a solid 4lbs. Caught a decent drum on jig with swimbait trailer. Bass was caught on black and blue jig with light gray/clear white swimbait trailer. Both caught in some grass about 3 foot of water. Surface temp in the morning was 83 by 1pm 85.5. Mostly sunny and 5-10mph winds. Had a few other small ones but all less than 1 pound.

Nice report man. Late time out hooked a couple on a frog in the grass up north and on the east side. Still lot of fish shallow.

Been a few weeks since I went out to Arrlington. Today got on the water about 6:30 caught the first one about 1lb using a jig and a swim bait trailer. About an hour later got a bass in grass, that tied my PB 5.04lb (on scale that was certified about 6months back). Wind was picking up clear day water temp was 77. Hoping this will give me more confidence and get up to a DD bass. Not sure Arlington has many if any DD bass but hope to find them some day.
