I love. my Dobyns but I have broken too many. Least they replace at a reasonable rate. When they were running that 40% off it was a steal.

21 years ago a fella in Gainesville FL gave me a rod to replace my favorite crank bait rod that I broke in my tail gate while staying at his house. Flippin was a bass guide on Rodman Resv and we had a trip planned for the next day.
I have caught so many great bass on that rod, from his rod sponsor out of the several cases he had in his shop. Even some big fish as well.
That rod is an Ugly stick and at the time sold for $39.99. Now sold for about the same.
Yes, I have Doybns, Loomis, Shimano, and a couple of other premium brands. But the Ugly stick is still on my deck with a crank bait tied on it.

Love the thing, but it's ancient. My go to rod as well. As an aside: spent much of my youth on the Ocklawaha River & fishing Rodman & the Ocala ponds (loved those bass).

These must be good as well - a lot of them are "sold out."

St. Croix for me, although I do own 17 different Dobyns rods and they're pretty good!

The best rod is the one in my hand when I have a fish on.
