I noticed this weekend my side scan images appear to be swapped. Left of screen is showing right side of boat and vice versa. No wander I have been so confused trying to read this thing. I searched user's manual and couldn't find anything. Anybody?

I will go out back and look at mine after a while. But have you played around in the settings menus?

Click on the side image on the screen, then go to menu, then advanced, then left/right flipped.

Flipping the image was mentioned under "Advanced StructureScan Settings" in the StructureScan chapter of my HDS manual. It took about 20 seconds to locate it. You might look at yours again.

Which way you need to set the advanced setting depends on the orientation of the StructureScan transducer as installed on your boat. In some cases, that transducer fits best with the cable exiting the rear of the transducer body. This means it was installed "turned around" and this is why you probably need to do that "flip" command in the advanced settings.

All it means is that it is flipped and go to your menu and options for side scan and it is on there to decide if you want left, right, both, or both flipped to opposite sides

Actually it's not under the view selection if you check. (For Lowrance, which he has, anyway.) It's in the StructureScan settings under "ORIENTATION". That's not a place you select left/right/both.

The instructions I gave was directly from my Lowrance HDS gen 3. I was sitting at the unit and thats the steps to make the change. I guess other models have different ways of getting to the setting.

I finally played with the settings enough to figure it out. Now the screen makes sense of what I think I am supposed to be seeing.... Thanks for all of the input!
