In the market for a new boat cover for my 2014 Skeeter ZX200. The factory cover is a little over 6 years old, is in poor shape, and doesn't fit over the ultrex very well. Has anyone used a cover from National Boat Covers? What boat cover do you recommend?

I have had 2 covers from National Boat Covers. One was a cheaper $400.00 cover that lasted about 2 years. The one now cost $600.00 and is about 1 year old. I would not trailer the boat with either one. They use what feels like about a 3/8-inch elastic cord that goes around both sides of the boat with tie downs to the trailer frame. Last week I stopped by a boat repair shop that opened near Possum Kingdom lake and ask them if they make covers. He said to bring the boat by, and they would measure it and quote me a price for a cover. I ask if it would be tailorable and he said yes. I will be passing by their place tomorrow and can get their name and send it to you. If you like PM me your phone number and we can talk. Pat Haley

Custom covers are the way to go if your looking to be able to trailer with the cover on and dont mind dropping a G.. otherwise my experience is about 3-5 years most covers will start to leak. Last cover I ordered was from Seal Skins, going on year number 3 and its still water tight. Its not a perfect fit like a custom cover, if anything its a little to big, but it keeps the sun off and the water out. Trick to the Seal Skins is always keeping them tight, if you dont and water puddles on it for any significant amount of time it will get brittle and thats the beginning of the end. Cost was a little less than $300.

Thanks for the responses fellas. It doesn't necessarily have to be trailerable, and if the price is right, I would go for a legitimate trailerable cover. Pat, I will PM you.

My buddy owns a Ranger and goes to a Ranger owners website for things he needs. Might try a Skeeter owner website.

Call Abilene tarp company. The best covers on the road. Looking at about 600-700. Iām not dust even gets under them down a dirt road.

Try American Canvas in downtown Fort Worth. I have all my covers done by them. They use premium sunbrella canvas and UV protected thread and the covers are custom fit to each boat. You'll not find a better cover IMO
Make every cast count!

You'll not find a better cover IMO Sunbrella material is great stuff at least it was in 2007, I got a discount skeeter tarp made out of it from color that didn't sell to well. Its not waterproof anymore but still looks good for a 13 year old tarp and still keeps the boat shiny. I don't know what they make it out of buy the nylon straps have fallen apart and had to be replaced multiple times in the sun but he sunbrella keeps going strong.
