Went out yesterday around 9:00 until about 2:00 with my Son and Grandson. We caught 42 that we kept and threw back about 15. 11 of the keepers were slabs, the rest were 11-12". Most of the ones we threw back were legal-barely. Almost all of the fish were caught before 12:00. They quit biting after that.

25+ FOW on standing timber about 15-18' down. White and chartreuse and sold white 1/8 oz jigs. Tipping with minnow was far more effective that just jigs. They were not taking the jigs hardly at all without the minnow.

Beautiful day to be on the lake, cool breeze, not hot, just pleasant.

Nice job and good report. I have been fishing that same pattern the last few trips. Thanks

Sunday I managed a decent mess on brush in 10 feet of water. Glad to start having a clue how to catch those things.

Going again Fri morning very early because it is going to be hot by afternoon. We'll see how it goes.

The hotter the better. Afternoon bites are traditionally better in the summer.

You may be right about the hotter the better, but when we went on Tuesday, the bite almost completely stopped when it got hot around noon. From noon to 2:00 we caught very few fish and we were not seeing them stacked up on the timber like we did earlier in the day (we are using Livescope)

We are going to try it early and see what happens. I'll go out when it's blazing hot if I can catch fish, but its sure a lot nicer when its not so hot.

I went Tuesday after work, on first spot about 5:45, and had 8 in the ice chest in like 15 minutes, caught one instantly like every drop, then it really slowed down, took me 2 hours and several more spots to put 7 more in the ice chest. All jigs, 13 to 18 FOW. I have never seen where color of jig matters. Let a bunch of small ones go.

Went out Wednesday fished 9:30 till 1:30 then got breezy. 21 good keepers with a few dink’s. Minners worked best. 25 feet of water bout 12 to 18 deep in timber. [Linked Image]
