Kind of makes me glad I have a bay boat. Least I don't take water over the bow.

I hear you guys with the wake boats, but I joined their ranks a few weeks ago. I love to fish and spend time in the bass boat, but my entire family of 6 is loving the wake boat. I’ve had up to 14 people in it with everyone having a blast. I’m with y’all 100% on being considerate to dock owners and fisherman. We were at PK on Saturday and it was miserable, I couldn’t imaging being in a bass boat. I would been off the water by 11:00 if I was fishing.

When we first bought the boat we went to Lake Worth for a demo. The salesman told me to go in the cove west of Lockheed. I told him no, people are back there fishing. I think it was eye opening for him.

Couple of years ago on Conroe, a wake board boat wake capzised a smaller boat, everyone in the water , 1 guy died trying to swim to shore of a heart attack.

Anyone fishing Conroe on a weekend during this time is just asking for problems.

What is even more amazing is the costs of these things and how many are out there, we complain about bass boat prices, go price a wake board boat.

Conroe was bad even before wake boats. I grew up on that lake in the 90’s and once 10 am hit, there were 3 foot seas. We loved it for tubing.

No one group has a monopoly on bad boating but wake boat owners, like myself, must be aware of the increased issues our boats present. We need to stay away from shorelines and out of coves if possible. . Bass fisherman also need to realize that around noon, if you position yourself in a choke point in the lake, it’s time to rock and roll and don’t get angry about it.

I'll still fish you even if you start wearing white shades and saying Bruh! a lot. cheers

Not driving close to fishermen helps some, but not a lot. The first two times I got swamped on Cedar Creek, a few years ago, I didn't even see the boats until the wakes hit me. They were at least a quarter mile away.

Conroe is bad. We have had a house there for 13 or so years. Have bass boat, ski boat and jet ski. I think it is just lack of general boating knowledge mostly. We get off the water by 10 AM or so on the weekends which is when we are mostly there. Memorial day had 3 people just blatantly cut us off.....and according to navigational laws we had the right of way......literally had to come off plane to avoid collisions....and weren't hauling butt.....the other boaters had no clue we were even there.......crazy dangerous.

The river area coming down from the park on Bridgeport gets dicey with all the play boats. All that has been talked about above then add a couple of blind corners, makes for a rodeo!

See you on the lake and have a great day!

It was that way years ago. Nothing new. Before that, water skiers used to see how close they could get to a guy fishing in a boat.

Yeah, but ski boats were designed to make the smallest wake possible while wakeboard boats are designed to make the biggest wake possible. I had a Mastercraft ski boat for years, that boat hardly made any wake.

The skiers took care of the wake.

No it wasn't that way years ago. I've watched my neighbor graduate each couple of years into a newer, highly sophisticated and technologically advanced boat that will put off biggest, most gigantic waves while plowing at 12-15mph. He brags about what it'll do and sends me videos and pics. I want to tell him how I really feel but I'm trying to keep peace in a great neighborhood. He tells me that this year Malibu has came up with an even better design to hold more water and create the biggest wake that he's ever seen from a wake boat. Guess what? His boat is a 2018 and he's getting ready to upgrade …..AGAIN! It's my own damn fault because 20years ago I taught this guy how to back down a ramp and drive a boat and load a boat back on trailer. At that time, he had a very nice ski boat, what we've all been used to for 40 or so years, or longer for some. They make 'em different nowadays. Also, he complains about the price always going up. This rig is gonna cost him around $140K. He's an idsiot!
