How has bass fishing been for you since the pandemic and more people has been on the water? Do you fish more at night? Has the overall catch gone down? Have you decided to wait until so many people are off of the water before doing much fishing?
I don't see a lot of catches posted or hear of many catching many bass lately.

After things return to normal, do you feel the fishing will return to normal on your area lakes?

It has been absolutely nuts on the water. I fish during the week at Joe Pool and every trip has been like a weekend day on steroids. Yesterday, I had a family in a pontoon boat drive over, then turn around on top of a hump I was fishing.. the guy had no clue what he was doing and showed no sign of any knowledge of boating etiquette. Last week, I had another pontoon boat with about 10 people on it yelling and screaming at each other drive over another hump I was fishing.. just crazy
The fishing has been pretty good for quality and decent numbers.
I think that it will only slow down slightly when everybody goes back to work because we will be in full on summer mode. I don't night fish anymore, too old for that stuff.. but it would be the way to do it.

I concur. On a public lake, right now night fishing would be better.

There's not much you can do about the other issues.

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

Lots and lots of boats but I've found places to fish where I get away from it. But boy has the spring been fantastic. I'm still learning, but have 7 bass above 6 lbs this year. In the previous 4, I had 7 above 6. Biggest difference is studying maps, reading Donald's articles, and working with other anglers to share information when we catch larger fish. That and making 3-4 trips a year with a guide for advanced learning. I rarely fish my old spots that delivered 1-2lb bass and concentrate areas to drive larger fish. I hate the wake boarders, but having such a blast just don't care. But I usually fish later in the day like 6:30 to dark so I try and avoid the nuts best I can.

My home body of water was one of the few that they couldn't close.

Increased Pressure + Very clear water due to a lack of rain + General lack of talent = Weary fish and slow days

Hasn't really been that bad other than negotiating the areas around the ramps when launching or loading and the boat chop on the water.

I’ve fished more this spring than I ever had and the bass fishing has sucked.

I’m on lakes without too much traffic, fishing on weekdays. I’m doing Ok on crappie, but my bass fishing has been less than great. Probably my fault instead of the bass.
