So this morning I took out the 3WT to test out the new game changer I tied. The game changer is definitely not a 3WT fly, but with a short leader the rod handled well enough to make a clunky cast.

The game changer is really a fun fly to fish. I was frustrated for a bit trying to figure out the best way to work it. I had a whole lot of fish follow it very very closely, even bumping up against the body but not eating. The action that worked was about a 10-12” strip with about a 2 second pause to let the bait roll over like a wounded fish. Ended up catching the big bluegill below and 5 bass all about the size of the pic. Also had another 3 bass throw the hook on me.

All of these fish struck like I had just disrespected their sister, so it made for a really fun morning with the 3WT.

Well done! The way you were retrieving them is how I normally do it. Medium-length strips with a short pause. Real similar to how you would fish a jerkbait on traditional gear.
