Hello folks,

Iā€™m in the market for a used boat, somewhere in the mid 2000s. A lot of the motors I see are between 300-600 hours and some are on rebuilt power heads. My question is, is there a standard range of compression numbers I should be looking for on a motor that has 300-600 hours? Do I want higher numbers or lower numbers? Is each cylinder suppose to be within some many PSIs of each other?

Thank you.
Joe

I bought an 03 Triton last summer and did a compression test. Can remember the PSI but all were within 5% of each other. Need to be within 10% of each other at the most.
