We didn’t prefish at all so we just fished history. Zero on top water early. Went to a dock with some brush we had fished before and my partner caught a 8.53. Good enough for big bass! We were pretty stoked! Just fished docks the rest of the way. I lost a big one under a dock that broke me off. I hadn’t retied all day, stupid rookie mistake on my part. It was tough we only caught 4 more keepers for 8 lbs. good enough for 23rd. That lost big one will haunt me for awhile. How did you guys do?

We stunk it up. Caught two keepers in the first 15 minutes, then one more all day. We caught a lot of little fish but the better ones we caught prefishing wouldn't cooperate or had already been caught by the time we went anywhere other than our starting spot.

It was as beautiful a morning as we'll ever see in late May. After that the boat traffic and wakes were unbelievable. It's the biggest thing that has changed in my years of fishing. It looked like the scene from Caddyshack out there.

As we got to the big bridge coming back to Log Cabin, getting slammed around in the giant wakes, my motor suddenly started running really rough and died when I got off the throttle. It wouldn't crank at first but finally started and ran fine for the last 45 minutes. I know next to nothing about outboard mechanics, but I feel certain the bouncing around in the huge wakes had to have something to do with it.

Overall great experience. Bass Champs runs the best tournament I have ever fished.

We did not prefish. I went 1 for 7 for first fish. Just could not get them in the boat. We ran a bunch of off shore stuff and a fish here and there. At 2 only had 4 keepers. Pulled up to a spot second cast a 6lber. Good enough for 19th place. This was good part of day.

Get to my truck and trailer to load boat. Someone hit my trailer and left. But someone got a picture of truck and license plate for me. As I will calling 911 to report to sheriff I ran into someone’s trailer in front of me...Ughh exchanged info very little damage on their trailer small tear in carpet on side rail and broke ratchet strap. Told the guy I would pay cash not to file with my insurance co. Gave him copy of drivers license and insurance Card 20 minutes after he left he filled a claim....

Congrats to Jackson and Sloan! Great guys! Had a lot of buddies in top 20...

I have a main lake point water front weekend home. Our docks and sea wall were pounded all day. Pretty much a
NASCAR sprint all day. When the wake boarders woke up and got on the water it got rough

The exact reason I've been avoiding lakes on the weekend since this stuff started, the weekdays are bad enough and just about look like weekends used to

We had a decent day, pre fished several times but never found anything great. We fished brush and deeper docks most of the day. Had a 6 pounder and a 4 off two spots and one small keeper on the dam. Lost a 4 pounder and a 2 pounder early that would have put us in the money. Finished up with almost 12#s. Caught lots of short fish. Enjoyed a nice day on the water.

Prefished once and had two 3 pounders. Nothing off either of those spots. We hit rocks first, for one giant hybrid. Moved up the lake and saw a cove that looked interesting. Went in the back and caught one 14.5" flipping grass, and a 3 pounder on a frog. fished 500 yards more of grass with no bites. hit bridge corners for nada. started flipping docks and caught another ~3, and filled out the limit of 14.5"ers. Set the hook on another, while fighting the 3' crazy waves in all directions... fish sat still while shaking her head.. couldn't move her and hook pulled free. Cost us a check. We ended up with just under 11 pounds. The Lowrance Ghost had it's tongue hanging out by the end of the tournament! She was worn out, and I had sea legs after getting off that washing machine for a lake. I thought Cypress Springs was bad with boat waves...… CC takes the cake! WOW!

The old saying " we fished clean " did not apply to us, we could have fell in a hog waller and still fished cleaner than what we did. Running around on that washing machine was a beating.

Pre-fished a couple of times, never got on anything great.. Threw the game plan away and started somewhere we hadn't hit in the previous weeks, big mistake, wasted an hour of prime fishing time, not even a nibble. got back into gear, started hitting my stuff, put a nice keeper in the boat within 15 minutes. ran to another spot and started catching quick, but they were all 12-13 inch fish. didn't catch another keeper until a flurry of activity between 2-3 at a previously unknown dock to me, caught another 2 and a 4 there, and that was it.. Lake was insanely rough with no rhyme or reason to the wave patterns, CC is a big bath tub.

Had a limit fairly early off docks. Culled once with a six and that was the last one we could get in the boat. Had a couple break off. Weighed 15.16 but one of our fish died in the last hour and cost us a check. Probably from the extremely rough ride down the lake. Busted my bow console and broke a Talon. Fun times fishing CC in the summer with a bunch of moron pleasure boaters.

Had a limit by 8:30 fishing docks. We had game planned to go deep once we had a limit, but since it was still early, kept fishing docks to cull a few. Big mistake, culled one 14.5" for a 15.5" and that was how the rest of the morning went. By the time we went out deep every spot was covered with boats or had jet-skiers doing donuts around them. Should have have stuck to the plan...

It was very frustrating with the wake boats and jet skies. My 21ft Skeeter took a beating but held up. All my partner and I could do is laugh all day driving around because it was so ridiculous. Felt like I needed a chiropractor after this tourney.

You will have to excuse the party crowd they suffer from affluency. PS lake LBJ in the hill country is just as bad.

This was the first Bass Champs we ever entered. I have to say I was very impressed with the way it is ran. I'm sure making it a trailering event helped that, but either way, everyone there was nice and very helpful. I will definitely be entering Ray Roberts and more in the future. We caught a limit early on docks. I caught a four pounder in the first 10 minutes and had 5 in the boat by 8:00, but the other 4 fish were less than 2 pounds. The more docks we fished the smaller they seemed to be getting so we went out deep around 11:00 and consistently culled our way to 16.61 which got us to 21st place. Didn't do any pre-fishing, but have fished the lake several times in the past. Other than not being able to get out of bed on Sunday with a stiff back, it was a good day if fishing.

Didn't fish the tourney but I'm glad I'm not the only one with these thoughts. Have a Nitro 901CDX and have a house on the lake, and get beat to H#$$ after 10 am. We live in a cove and have a concrete retaining wall, and cannot even have our kids in the water because of the swells that wash over them.
