I'm looking to buy the Basscat 203 Hybrid Cougar. I have read a lot of material pertaining to the boat but I am looking for anyone who has had hands on experience with the boat.

Thanks.

Matt Mosher has one on the champ facebook page, he has written a very detailed report on his experience.
Long story short, if I was in the market, that's exactly what I'd be getting.

Presently we have only shipped a few products to dealers and these are in stock at Tailwater Marine in TN, and Fredrick’s Outdoors in Priceville, AL. We have other sold orders for retail consumers and they will ship in the coming weeks. It’s not a jump start with dozens on the market on the hull and part of that is our fault. It’s a very niche market and we are crawling into it as the demand paces us.

Ross Motorsports in Lufkin, TX will have one within the week.

This project has been more documented and public than any Project we have taken on. It was expensive and slowed by many developments since starting almost 15 years ago. One of those is the replication of the 210, and following very slow market uptake on those Chargers. Charger is only selling about 30-35 registered boats in the USA between all of their models. Before the 210 that number was just over 20 units and that slowed our thoughts of acceptance.

In 2019 we recommitted and the product moved to completion. Making old stuff work right with newer products and weights was harder. The hull is a mix between our dry ride and the on water experience of a Champion. It will not run with a BCB hull, though it seems to accomplish what the C click wants in that ride. It also is Much more stable at rest with our corners on the hull. They taper down to the basic original hull on the very bottom.
