I just joined TFF and I find all the post quite helpful and very interesting! Myself I love to striper, hybrid and bream fish but fishing for them channel cats and blues are my true passion. To me there`s nothing better than when that pole bows over and the fight starts. Gets me fired up inside, and when it comes to eating them, well lets just say I can do it with you or without ya. This morning my middle daughter and myself took a trip to Fork and was pulling them in before the rooster crowed. We did pretty good and had a blast.We fished out past 515 bridge in the stumps. We started out fishing over cubes in about 23ft of water. When things slowed down we moved around but stayed in the timber at about the same depth. We did just as good moving around as we did over cubes. We had close to a limit by 10am so we decided we`d call it a day. I cut my skinning time down by giving a bucket full to an ol boy at the boat ramp. The smile on his face alone was worth the trip. Thanks for your time, good day!

What size were they?

Everything we kelp was 14in and up, with 3 or 4 that was probably 3 to 5lbs. We did catch several littlins tho! My daughter still using a zebco so to her every fish is a whale.
The hole I fish is kinda funny, you never know what its gonna be like. Ive been over there and catch 30 with only 5 keepers and Ive been there and catch 15 between 3 and 6lbs. One of the best hauls Ive had was last August. Me and a friend from work went over there and fished from sun up til about 1pm. We caught our limit and only had to throw 6 little babies back to grow some. It was crazy, I think we had 7or 8 that was 5 to 8 lbs. I`m sure there`s some that`s had better days but we had a blast, and was able to put up some good fish to boot!!

Welcome to the forum. You sound like a good ole country boy. Keep on catching them channel kittens and leave the real fish for those us that truly know how to fish. Hope to see you on the water some time. I'm sure I can pick you out sitting on your lawn chair leaned over the boat like you think staring at the water will cause them to bite better. HAHA!!!
