Humble brag post, I have only been bass fishing more regularly for the last few years. I grew up wade fishing never much fresh water. That all changed when my In laws bought a lake house.

I am pretty limited still as I only have a 12’ tiny with my electric trolling motor. But with that said it is enough to occasionally get me out and I was blessed right before this quarantine [censored] to get out and fish some beds.

I caught this big girl on a Texas Rigged black and blue Bandito Bug, I was just happy to be able to scramble and get her in the boat. Thankfully the people’s property I was in front of came down and gave me a hand securing my boat as well as took some pictures for me and let me borrow their scale. (When I got back home I ordered my own)

Ironically I caught another fish about an hour later that in hind sight I totally ignored unnecessarily. It was almost 19” and probably about 4lbs. Would have been my PB...,instead he just got released. Didn’t help I was fishing while having a conversation with an old timer on his dock.

Congratulations and a nice job. Thanks for sharing and giving some of your time to the old timer. Just like a good fish spot; never pass one of the old guys up.

Thank you. The wife bought the hull for Christmas and I decked it out, I have an old 3hp Johnson I’m trying to rebuild for it but it’s a slow process. It works well for shallow water and working banks but too many pleasure boaters to feel comfortable taking it in deeper open water. So it limits me a lot. In the next few years I’d like to get something larger, around the time my son can really start going out with me more, he’s only 6 and loves fishing but can’t last long stretches on a boat. We have lots of fun on the dock though and on ponds at home. [Linked Image]

He loves taking picture with every fish and especially loves releasing them. He likes to give them farewell speeches!

The Toyota truck of fishing reels, they never die. There's a guy on the pro tour, Steve Kennedy, that still uses them.
