TFF, we are heading to PK tomorrow for the first time. My friend has a house there but doesn't fish a lot. He has 2 sons (10 & 8) that want to fish so I'm taking the boat. His house is in Neely Slough. Can anyone give me some tips about fishing in there? Are there other areas that would be better?

Take them striper fishing
Top waters on the north side of the lake just east of hell’s gate ( look for all the boats)
Lots of action right now and easy for the kids

You will probably catch some good sized largemouth chasing those stripers.

My son likes to throw topwaters at them, I prefer throwing swimbaits. I caught my biggest largemouth inside hells gate after the striper bite quit, just under 9 lbs. My buddy caught 2 or 3 that same morning between 4-5 lbs on poppers in between catching stripers. Get out early, that morning striper bite may only last 20 mins. I caught way more stripers on the swimbaits than on topwaters. Topwaters are a lot more fun, but having them nearly jerk the rod out of your hand when they hammer those swimbaits isn't too bad either. I like the live target gizzard shad in 4-5".
