I have this same problem with yahoo as well.

I had a very bad experience with AT&T back when long distance was charged per minute and you could get a calling card that reduced your land line rates from 10 cents a minute to 5. Back around 2000.
It would take a page to explain all the problems but my average bill went from 125 to 850 the first month I signed up for combined billing with cell phone, internet and land line. Each problem I had required waiting 45 minutes to over an hour to wait for a rep. It was a mess and I got away from them after 6 months.
Since I've come back to Uverse then to Direct TV I have had no problems with them the last 7 years.

I used to do national contracts with them, and they were difficult even when they didn’t need to be. That said, they were the cheapest due to rollover minutes, but tough to deal,with. Got worse when I retired. My employer would let me keep the phone and number, but I had to change payment over to me. Had to call ATT to do that with a live rep. Things went well till they said they had to ask me 4 questions to prove I was me. Going on memory, they were: number of kids I had, what my tractor payment was (they knew I had a tractor?), what our house payment was, and one more question I can’t remember. I answered them and was told that I failed due to missing 2 of the questions. They would not say which two, and they gave no credence to the fact that it was my life and I knew more about it than they did. I finally tried to play the “do you know who I am...the guy that did the current national contract with you?” That didn’t work. Took a couple of days to prove I was me. I hate em too.

My biggest problem was when I tried to cancel my landline. It took 6 months. 6 months for something I never used cost me $200. Dave Lieber "The Watchdog" got involved. He absolutely hates ATT and was chomping at the big to help. He rates ATT CS as the worst. He has had lunch with the CEO and dumped documentation of CS problems on his desk. He got a hold of a manager and got me a one time use number to call her. Once I called I finally got rid of the landline.

I live 30 miles from their HQ and I don;t get a signal in my yard or house (or when I do, I have to stand in one place to talk if not through wifi). I tweet about them, they ask me to DM them, and then they never do squat.

Just wait until you get charged for the overage on that 1g. They got you by the balls...

Land line was a little problem but one that did not go away till 3 months after I left them.
Short explanation is I signed up for 2 lines. One for a land line and the other would be for internet. A couple days later I altered it to 1 land line and one cable internet. For the entire time, including 3 months after I quit them, they kept billing me for that 2nd phone line. Each month they would correct the billing error but none of them could stop that item from coming up on the next bill so I had to call them every month on it.
When I quit them I asked my new provider to check and make sure AT&T had disconnected my 2nd line. I chose not to have a land line anymore since we all had cell phones. I called them back the next month only to find out that when they checked on the 2nd phone line they were told AT&T had never installed it.

Shouldn't this be we hate AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Apple Pie and Chevrolet and everyone else in between??

it's unlimited. the 1G is the speed.

I don't care much for them but they are the only carrier that has a signal at my property. I run my trail cams in the woods on it, my phone, stream Direct Tv to my smart tv and surf the internet. Usually even have 4G inside the motor home. No one else can even get a text much less a call there using their carriers.
