I'm a prime candidate for being the worstest - the very worstest. When I was a kid and up into my late 20s when my almost 5-decade hiatus began I could tie a button to a shoe string and pull a 2-pound trout or 5-pound bass out of a roadside mud puddle. Friends dragged DW & me to the lake 08 or 09, forget which, and I caught three real nice ones, channel cat, largemouth and drum. After +40 years the hiatus was over. Since then I've met my quota of one fish a year most years. Three years ago I caught two real nice largemouths I guestimate being well over five pounds each (no scale). As penance for exceeding my annual quota I haven't caught a thing since...trees, rocks, whatever hangups excepted.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I'm not the worse, I'm pretty good. But I'm definitely not the best either.
I'm going to go with one of those off-topic guys who hasn't Fished several years.
