Very cool. My grandma grew all kinds of roses. I used to until the RRV virus wiped out all the roses in the county.

I only have one remaining that wasn’t affected.

We lost most of the store bought roses due to one thing or another. I have this planted out in the open and do nothing but mow and weedeat around it. Never have a problem with it. Also have chives, bachelor buttons, oxalis and seedum that were my mother's that I keep going.

I'm a sucker for old roses. I don't have much use for modern varieties, but I really love the old antiques that somebody planted 100 years ago, and it flourishes with no care. Unfortunately I gave up after losing even those old varieties to the damn RRD. I've been tearing out the sickly roses here and replanting with things not as susceptible.

Losing thousands of dollars of hard to find and rare varieties to a virus you can do nothing about has a way of making you give up.

That's cool. He's like the Andy Dufresne of flower gardening.

Does your boss dream of places that aren't made of stone?
Wishes he could buy some worthless old boat and fix it up new. Take guests out charter fishing...
Does he know a place like that?

These are called winecups and there's a tuber under each plant that's edible. Tastes kinda potato-ish.

Nope. She dreams of boxes of beauty products that show up on her desk once a month as part of her subscription service.

This one originated in TN and traveled to Texas with plantings in Freestone Co, Hill Co, Erath Co and then Cochran Co. I wonder if it still grows in some of those places.

I always like my grandmothers gardening style, just stick it in the ground and see what happens. Never was any order to her yard just lots of stuff growing. Mine looks kind of the same, we've planted hundreds of trees, bushes and annuals.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
