Not huge.
It is only 160,300 acres. Barely even 1000 miles of shoreline.

Don’t understand the hype behind largemouth in general. A 3 lb smallmouth or spotted bass fights better than a 10 lb largemouth of any strain.

We generally can't depend on smallmouth as a fishery in the South's hot climate, and spotted bass don't adapt well to many waters where largemouth flourish. I would think the "hype" is largely due to that availability of the species in general. Not everyone has large/deep reservoirs/lakes to fish (where spots are more agreeable with the environment).

Pond has 70’ places.
Brown bass do well. In fact, at least half the bass I catch are smallies or spots.

I keep everyone I catch and eat 'em. I've never caught a smallie in Rayburn or TB. Do I want to trave a couple hundred miles for just a chance at them? No! For the cost of driving to and from Texoma or even Belton. I think It's a close one on a 10lb LM vs a 5 lb SM. I've had some huge LM that absolutely ripped the rod out of my hand soooo. Again ... I love SM. Their fight is unrelenting:

I might add I like the genetic size traits of the Fla strain.
