Not many reports lately on Grapevine. Headed out there for a couple of hours Friday. In a pontoon so I am somewhat limited in how I can fish. Wind doesn't help matters. Has anyone been doing any good?

I don't have any good reports as of lately. I had good results on a spot 200 yds directly east of the island, a week and a half ago. but the lake has been so up and down they are not found in the usual spots. If you find them just anchor up wind of them and drift back to them. You should be able to slab them up. 20 to 25 ft has been the depth of the fish lately.
Work the humps and points on the north side (Murrell).

Thanks JWC-this time of year they will usually run that choke point between the island and shoreline (channel runs through there) but that sounds hit and miss. The points out in front of Murrell are always good BUT if there is a south wind of any kind I am in trouble with the pontoon. I don't have a drift sock so I can make one pass at a time and if they are deep, it makes it that much tougher to get the bait into the strike zone. Never have caught much in the rock crusher area. And haven't checked the aerator/dam area in a long time-usually a summer place.

With the gates wide open it's been tough. They were stacked in twin coves just to the west of the boat ramp on high wind days also.
That's been a couple of weeks. There was a guy there last Wednesday 5/20 but he was not catching.

Report for 5/28 evening fishing:
Solid bites from 5 till 7:30 PM on 1oz MT Pockets white-prizum color slabs - 50 plus fish evening.
Most came from east Murrell Point and the rest of the fish came from just east of the island. All in 22' to 24' water.
Kept 10 for the fryer. Even caught a few in the 14" range.
Had a good time with other Sandie chasers last night. The Wake Boaters are still A S S es. But it is Grapevine "Lawless"

Lake is muddy west of Twin Coves and never got a bite out west.
