Staff Sgt. Terry W. Prater, 25, of Speedwell, Tenn.; was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; He died March 15, 2007 in Baghdad when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit during combat operations. Terry was on his second deployment with the 1st Cavalry Division. He received a Silver Star and a Purple Heart in his first tour. I was blessed to know Terry and enjoyed sharing the boat and fishing with him on Lakes Belton and Stillhouse. RIP Brother.

My Dad was a Marine in WWII. His brother, my uncle, was a submariner in WWII. RIP.
Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.â€

My dad's God son gave the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq, 2011. I found his baptism certificate in a box today. Don't know why I opened it, was just cleaning up, probably hadn't been opened in many years. Had no idea what was in there but it was right on top. Thank you for your service Sergeant, may God be with you.
