So in 30 mph wind today for one hour I braved the 2-3 foot white caps to chase the Phatties. I really wanted to cook some Furikake (some you don't know I, chef, as a hobby.) I had a salmon recipe and am not crazy about salmon. I caught 5 in about 30 min in the roughest part of the lake and it took me 3 tries to get back on the trailer in this wind. Back at home, I gave the neighbor 4 fish and cleaned one. Then I whipped up some sesame rice, Japanese Furikake (nori-seaweed, white sesame seed, black sesame seed, and sea salt with lime juice) with onion, and basted it with lemon pepper butter using a sprig of rosemary. I usually don't keep the fish I catch unless I plan on making a special dish.

Some fatties for sure. Love it when the guys that chance it score.

PB flathead 34.5 lbs - I know it's small but it was still the record for Lake Travis when I caught it!
PB Blue 58.5 lbs jugline 43.5 lbs on R&R which was the other Lake Travis record when caught.
