Went out today but waited til the storms were gone as I don't like to play with lightning! The bass didn't play nice again today lol I ended up with 1 Big grinnel(7lbs 8oz!) and 1 green sunfish. The grinnel sure had me thinking BIG BASS but alas not to be! Then I was in scramble mode trying to make sure I actually CAUGHT the grinnel as I was using a $$$ lure. Then caught the sunfish on a qacky rig. But once the sun came out fully even though it got really warm the bite was DONE! never even had another nibble from say 12 to 1700. I fished Whatley island, sand island, and little green brake and back at earl g some just trying to catch a bass. Water temps were upper 70°s and even saw 80 once. Missed a fish on a hang 10 worm(came back after the hookset with half the worm gone) and had something(grinnel again?) slam a wakebait but didn't hook up.

Anybody ever fished the river above the 43 bridge toward Jefferson? Thinking about going this weekend

I've fished it some up that way. Fishes like a river system with lots of small cuts/oxbows.

Be careful if you go with all this rain its pushing thru there pretty good so could be debris/trees all over. At Jefferson the river has moved up over 2' in the last week.
