Drifting for Blues but also trolling for Hybrids and Stripers
Cast ability is very important as well. What’s your opinions.
A lot of money to me and I don’t want to buy the wrong one or two.
Is the 400 size about right?

I will take the Calcutta's out of your way. I'll even pay shipping!

I have 8 tekotas and love em. I have 4 600 and 4 500’s. I prefer the 500’s For balance and feel. el gato likes the 600’s for the extra line capacity.

I got my first tekota for Christmas and it is awesome for drifting for big blues. I got a 600HGA. I have not tried it on hybrids and striper but I guess it would work fine. Seems like over kill of hybrids and striper to me. I just use my bass gear for them. Calcutta is a great reel also but for big blues I would choose the tekota

Good stuff. Looks like it’s time to look for Tekotas. Think I’ll buy 1 and try it out before I sell a kidney and buy the second one. Thanks guys.

Since I retired I try to save a buck. I have been buying the academy 39 dollar reels and they work great. I don't need a clicker because I watch my rods. Now in my opinion the pro angler rods have been the rod. I have eight pro anglers and never had a problem, not even a broken eye. I use my rods almost every week of the year. Fork is not easy on equipment. I take my catfish rigs to the coast then I bring them back to fork and dunk them in the lake to clean them off. I use Penn fierce spinning reels on the spinning combos. Now every do.often I will clean my equipment and use some reel oil.

I hot this friend who bought several Calcuttas when they first came out. I took him out to curtis creek and the largemouth started schooling on top. He grabbed his rid and chunked it. His bait was wrapped around th ed tip and he threw his hole rod in. Well two old fat guys were diving In 20 foot deep water trying to get that rig. We tried everything even rigging tre mez on another rod trying to snag the rod. Very expensive accident plus wasted lots of valuable fishing time. I just don tg recommend spending loads bnb of money on reels. My bbn old way if doing things was to buy one decent ambassador every year and throw my old one away. I know I could have torn the old one down and built it back up well but I never was a reel mechanic. Software engineers mostly are not good mechanics.
