Been running SEI for 8 years, no problems but I also only put about 30-50 hours/year on it.

I have a Mercury Proxs 250 and I was told if I get a SEI unit it couldn't handle the motor. Said it wouldn't hold up. I am needing a torque master

Who told you that the SEI unit wouldn't hold up? It might be suspect if you happen to be running surfacing propellers and high motor heights. What hull are you running?

SEI told me their lower units weren’t compatible with the Pro XS, it will bolt up but not handle that motor. TexasOutboards carries demand from OBR as well as a few more online shops. Plan on spending about $3600 and up.

Call Tommy Yetts at Rockwall Marine. He can hook you up with a reman Merc Torque Master with a 1 year warranty. Very reasonably priced.

Don’t run a SEI on any 3.0 motor for most part. U can pick up 3.0 pull off lower units for fairly cheap. I found a 225 pro xs for 500 other day
