Got out and fished with my four-year-old fishing partner. Wasn’t expecting much with East wind but when we got to the lake at 10 it was white capping with rollers. Bait was easy in 34 ft. We started out drifting the main lake humps and landed 6 our first drift. The fish were there but they didn’t want to play. Moved over to the old lake and found a pile of fish at the bottom of a ledge in 23 ft. They were fired up good and we were catching good fish left and right. We popped a double teener as the wind shifted and the pattern was blown. Moved back out to the main lake to see if the fish on the hump were ready to eat and they were. We loaded the boat with 10-13 lb slots and even had a quadruple takedown. Fish quit biting at 3 and we called it a day with 38 up to 14 lbs.

That boy is a trooper!!

Thought I recognized the layout . A buddy and I almost bought a 2003 2310 a couple months back as flip project it had set up a few years. 225 Mercury Saltwater edition , two power poles aluminum trailer 4000.00 .

That’s cheap! I got a lot more than than that invested in mine. It’s been a heck of a catfishing boat Dewayne. It’s a heavy bay so it handles rough water like a champ. Much safer for fishing the rollers with my son. I fish Lewisville, Texoma, and Twok and they all get oceanic sized waves.

Thanks Matt! We’ve been catching our bigger fish around hybrids. I’ve found those bigger blues like to follow those Hybrids around like puppy dogs. It’s hard to move off of fish when your catching but bigger fish don’t tend to be in the same groups as the dinks so if your catching tons of dinks then move on and go find a different group. If you can’t find a better pod of fish then you can always go back to where you were catching dinks.

23ft bottom of ledge and 23ft on top of hump. Find a big group of sandies and hybrids on mid depth structure and drift through em. No easier time of year to locate and catch blues.

We got lucky! I haven’t fished your area in 20 yrs Fredo...we used to troll for Striper up in there back when they used to stock em in Lewisville.
