Which prop do you have? pitch? WOT rpm's? Has this been a problem with a heavy load in the past? Is it still a problem with a light load?

Along with all the pertinent information Bronco71 stated above:

Do you have a Jack Plate? Where is it set? Prop needs to be about 3.5" below pad on boat to start with, maybe up or down slightly to fine tune. Is prop blowing out on take off? Are there PVS holes in the prop? Are they plugged or open?

Luck will beat skill any time you have enough of it!

Hi Bronco your old minnkota works good.. But prop is 25p tempest. Tach doesn't work. MOtor would get up to certain rpm, not enough to plane. . eventually rpm would go up enough. I had slight prob with hotfoot hence My question. Is there adjustment{ may not getting to w. o. t . ???? also good source to orders parts / filters etc. been about 3yrs since changed. As stated in first post went out mon No problem. Thanks

Start yanking prop plugs until it blows out, then put the last one back in. You need to give the motor some exhaust relief to help it spool up and go.

Good to know the old MK is getting used! Like Pat said, pull plugs till the prop breaks loose on hard takeoff and then put the last one back in, that lets the rpm increase faster and doesn't affect top end. It would be nice to know WOT rpm to get prop dialed in better though. In hot months of July and August the holeshot may be a problem with a heavy load due to the heat. My spare prop is 1 pitch lower and I put it on mid summer until things cool off a bit...
