 Left side "open" side of Ray Roberts

so, I've been furloughed and have more time on my hands...it sucks, but the positive is I get to figure out Ray Bobs more...or at least try.
I never fish the "open" or left side very much...does it fish different than the area past Wolf Island with all the timber?
Any advice on what to key in on and target would be great...
Not a tournament fisherman, I'm just looking to be more productive on my trips. I have enjoyed mapping and graphing new spots...but would like to hear from some of you more seasoned guys.

Don’t fish it much myself but it’s not as open as you think it is. So be careful running it.

If you're talking about the west side of the lake, it can be tough but there are good fish there, I would go throw a mid or deep diving crank and drag a c-rig on the mainlake points on that side, look for the old railroad tracks and road beds, my pb came from that side of the lake 17 years ago next month

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's open. There are a few spots that are underwater that can catch you off guard quickly. If you run down the middle past Wolf to the dam it's pretty clear. As stated above summer time is here so the deeper points may be your go to.

I appreciate the info...I have been trying to expand my knowledge of deeper points... unfortunately, I am not being too successful at finding the larger concentration of bass.

Ray Robert's is almost like three lakes in one!
East Side North and North in general is timber, bridges, rip-rap and grass - Reminiscent of Fork
East side south is deep, clear, and Bluffy - reminiscent of Texoma or Bridgeport
West side has the Marina, more isolated timber, long sandy shoals, some interesting Rock Features, and the river mouths - I see some Whitney there...
Try narrowing it down, start with the marina and then Pond or Spring Creek.
Pecan and the cuts near the bridge have some interesting features too.
