We had another great day on Aquilla today. We got on the water about 7:30 and finished up around 12:30. Started fishing in timber 5-8 fow. Found a few fish but most had moved to 10-13 fow on brush piles. We kept 45 all 12” or larger, with biggest fish of the day at 1 1/2 lbs. We caught fish all morning and threw back as many as we caught. Thanks to Rod and Mandel for the advise and posts, both great guys.
That lake, probably like many others is going through quite a culling. Lol Been fishing it for years and in 9 weeks have seen more crappie fishermen on it than the last 8 years combined. It amazes me how many fish are actually in a lake. I sure like that little lake and hope it stays productive. I have noticed I catch more of the next generations of keepers than I used to so future still looks good.

I agree with you for sure! My experience is only from last year (had several years of not being able to fish)so I guess I'm one of the bunch that's flocking to Aqullia.
Was out there yesterday myself, limited out pretty quick and I didn't start til 10:30am either. When I got there, there were a lot of boats, never seen that many boats there. I was shocked. I can't imagine what it looks like on the weekend.
