Gonna be fishing Palo Pinto for the first time in two weeks for a few days. Any advice would be appreciated. I normally thump and slab on most lakes I go to in Texas.

I wish I could help. I go out that way a few times a year to the 7R ranch, but haven't dragged the boat there to see for myself. Let us know what you find.

Try the creek. It might be fishing good right now. Fun trip anyway. If you haven't gone up Palo Pinto creek you will be really surprised how deep and interesting it is.

First time on Palo Pinto the last four days. Was unable to figure out a slab or thumping bite but did figure the night bite out. Great Lake! Fish were caught on 1/8 oz roadrunners plus 1/16 oz Doll fly.
