Guess the entire World is lying to us. It's ok, carry on like it's nothing. For the people that have lost loved one's during this time I'm sorry. Yes some would have passed anyways. It's a fact of life, we die. I would imagine most of you on here yelling it's all political haven't lost a loved one. Or had a wife have to deliver a baby all alone while you sat at home or out in your car. Yes some parts of the hospital are slowwwww. Med surg, cafeteria, etc. But the ICU's, CCU's Covid wards are over run. We've had to wear the same masks for up to 5 days. Cleaning supplies are so short we're stealing from other departments. This is MY job and what I signed on for. I love helping people. I just hope it's not one of you I help next. I get that you are passionate and think highly of you for it, but pull yourself out of the middle of this mess and take a more objective point of view. A father cannot join his wife during the birth of their child........let that sink in a little. This is a perfect example of what most of us are pointing out this is far beyond reasonable. To tell one business they are a casualty and let another run rampant under the guys of essential. This deal has been BLOWN out of proportion and become political fodder. NO QUESTION at all. Yes its virulent and yes its dangerous but if I had a wife in labor the hospital said "um yeah you are unfortunately going to wait in the car" I'd lose my SH!T in a hurry. PM me your address I will send you a handful of N95 masks. Chris "Guys of Essential" would be a great band name.

Honest question....which hospitals in DFW area are overran right now with COVID? Which hospitals statewide? Mark not the two that I know someone working at- About the last three weeks or so they are testing each L&D patient that admits and have only had two positives- None most likely. Reported "cases" are up and hospitalizations down. I called our ICU today and there are only 6 total COVID cases in the hospital. At the height of their caseload there were 10 ICU patients and about 20 non-critical
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I would have much rather been sitting in the car drinking rum. I don't know what was worse, seeing the things I saw or hearing the things I heard coming out of that pretty mouth.

We were still residents at Parkland when our first child was born. My poor wife had to endure me making OB-Gyn jokes with the OB attending and residents I went to Med school with during the 24Hr delivery process. Bless her heart.
Can’t complain about the $10 copay for all the pre natal, delivery, and post natal care to six months on the Parkland insurance we had as residents
Second child delivery was 30min and only spent 9hrs in the hospital; let’s just say that one was about 250X more expensive.

If you all worked at a hospital you're stance would change, believe me. If you havent had a paycheck in 3 months your stance might change.

I know people who go to work ever day for years and put their lives in far greater peril than the corona virus. People have to work and provide for their family and business. It’s either go to work or lose everything you have worked for. Many healthcare workers seem to have a different view of risk than many people. Go climb high voltage towers, drive a truck, work as a police officer, work in the military etc....and you will come to know what risk is to a lot of people. The coronavirus is a wimp compared to most risky professions.

Chris I know at Baylor downtown the laboring patient could have ONE visitor/support person- And yes I heard many stories of understandable upset people- But they did allow one, many times it was the mother in there- I hope they let the mother in there, she’s the one delivering the baby!

What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

In relation to reopening, I'm not prepared to put my trust in total strangers to do the right things that will minimize my exposure risk. Therefore, I will continue my dull, lonely existence until an approved vaccine becomes available.
Thank God i'm in a position to be able too and I definitely understand and respect the positions of those who aren't.

T-Bird.......dull lonely existence at times sounds awesome.
I am for a complete unlock, and sending China a bill
Masks optional, be careful and courteous, and most of all get all of the people crowding boat ramps back to work.

Thank God i'm in a position to be able too and I definitely understand and respect the positions of those who aren't. Check out the book, "Stranger in the Woods." That guy spent 27 years completely alone. He loved it. Only spoke one word to another human during that time. Saw somebody on a hiking trail about half way through and said, "Hi."

With over 40% of the deaths so far nationwide coming from longterm care facilities and nursing homes you would think there would be a concentrated effort to address that.
