Just so everyone knows, I never got to meet Thad Rains. However, he was always very quick to offer help to me when I asked a fishing question and on several occasions would PM with much more specific detail and suggestions. He was a gentlemen and very kind in my humble opinion. I was wondering if maybe as a way for us to honor him, if we would all purchase a spool of McCoys Mean Green line. By doing this we are spending our dollars on an American Made product from Arizona and honoring a very helpful man who believed very much in that product. Thad and I had our disagreements about MMG as at his suggestion I got a spool but didn't care for it and was vocal about having a bad experience. But he never held that against me and still offered help. That's the sign of a true gentleman and a class act. I've ordered my spool and will use it for cranking over the next few months. RIP Thad. Thanks guys.
Jesus loves all of us

I’m in on that idea Frank. Agree with everything you said.

Good idea but the money is going to McCoy’s. Maybe a go fund me to assist his family instead of McCoys? Never met him but went back and forth on here with him. Good guy

Great guy. Fished with him and have had him at my house to pick peaches with sister. His sister is just as nice as he. He and his sister raise cattle for a livening on their ranch close to Post Texas and you probably weren't aware. Thad had a cool habit of calling everyone sir as if it's your name? He will be missed by many. I thought he was unappreciated until I read what has been said by many on TFF. Who would have thought so many held him up like they do. I didn't have any idea all of you know him like you do. I'm so glad to realize he touch all of you too. RIP Thad.
TAKE A PHOTO HOME NOT THE FISH. CATCH AND RELEASE Set the hook first and ask questions later.

I'll help with funds but please no MMG. I thought I knew you better than this FTT.

Anybody have a link to his obituary? Perhaps there was a cause he supported in it?
