I have a new Ultrex trolling motor on my boat, and left the Lowrance Hook2 5 unit in place when we added the Garmin 106. The Hook2 5 is connected to the Lowrance transducer, which was moved from the previous trolling motor to the new Ultrex. But, the Ultrex has a built in transducer, and I’d like to know if I can use that transducer with the Hook2 5. Is that workable, and does anyone know what connector I’d have to use? I called Lowrance, but being Sunday (which I forgot), they are closed.

Have any of you done what I outlined?

You will need to go to Minn Kota and buy their adapter. I believe it is US2 Adapter Cable / MKR-US2-10 - Lowrance That is what I used with my Terrova and Hook 2 5.

It appears that your Hook2 5 model requires TWO cables to connect, per the Minn Kota table for connecting US2 transducers.

Which Lowrance cable you also need depends on your exact Hook2 model. Notice the asterisk notes.

That is correct. If you have the Hook 2 - 5 that has the push in plug you will need the second adapter.

You should order the adapter cables from an online retailer. To order them from a manufacturer almost always is a slow proposition, and at full cost.

Is your HOOK2 5 a SONAR only unit or is it the SS with Sonar and Downscan? I also sent you a PM to call due to the connectors in back of the HOOK2 unit or not like the HDS units.
