I know besides looking in the back area for a remote oil reservoir. I'm looking into a new to me boat and was wanting to know if there is a way to tell if mercury, yamaha, evinrude motors are 2 strokes or four strokes. Thanks in advance.

Most every 4 Stroke will say it is 4 Stroke on it.

Has Evinrude / Johnson ever made a 4 Stroke outboard?

If in doubt just do a quick Google search of the model number and it will tell you. cheers
