Anyone fish in Mexico lately? I would really like to fish there and take my 14 year old son, but safety is a real concern these days. I would definitely do the guided trips for sure to one of the lodges just looking for some info.

I went on my first trip to El Salto this year with 9 other people who had been multiple times before. I had no issues with safety or ever felt uncomfortable. I plan on making it a yearly trip and giving my little brother a trip to El Salto for his High School Graduation. We went with El Salto Lodge which isn't as nice as Angler's Inn, but it's also a lot cheaper and they have good guides. 3 fish over 10lbs were caught by the group and our boat caught 70-100 fish/day and we caught over 150 fish one day. Recommend it 1000%

I do 3 drive in trips in Jan., Feb. and March. I am booking now. We go to lake Oviachic; as it is the most consistent lake for numbers and large Bass. We have close to 100 each day per boat with 50 of those around 5 lbs.. It is a 11 day trip. It takes two day to get there with 6 days of fishing and 2 days to get back. It is the best trip you will ever take. I have been going and driving for 35 years with NO problems. The trip for two is half the price for two people to fly to one of the commercial outfitter lakes for just 3 days of fishing.
Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success. The issue right now is not the safety or potential lack of down there, it would be once you go over there will you be able to get back into America because of COVID. My Dad just cancelled a trip to Baja in June for that exact reason.

I have not heard of any US Citizens or Greencard holders having any issues coming back to the USA USCIS is not issuing any visa for like Tourist, K1, CR1, etc at the present time.

They have replaced their rods with new Lews this year. I was told both Comedero and Salto did this although I can only confirm Comedero. They were not the cheap rods either. Some of them were higher end. The still had the older Dobyns also.
