tip of the point beside the fountain is where the Alleghany and Monongahela rivers meet to form the Ohio River.....second picture is one of the numerous power generating plants along the river.......3rd picture is about 40 miles down river from Pittsburg and starting to show some pretty scenery on edge of river...first 40 miles or so it's like riding down a river that runs through an industrial park...

p.s. occasionally when you are going through river locks,the lockmaster will ask you for the name of your boat and the registration numbers so I had to come up with a name for my boat....most of my friends think "Dumarse" is very appropriate and reflective of the ownership......

Those are neat pictures . One day I want to go through a lock in my boat.

here's what inside of first lock on Ohio river looks like.....lock gates are opening to let us out....dark wet side indicates how far (about 12 ft.)they have lowered us from upriver pool to next pool downriver....there are 20 locks on the 981 mile length of Ohio river..........
