The Lake Fork Anglers are back! After a 2 month hiatus due to Covid 19 we are back to fishing but with restrictions. 90% of our members are 60 or older with some in their 80's so taking precautions is very important.
We have set it up so only the co-angler registers, wearing masks, in the morning paying both entry fees and picking up their score sheets. The setup for fishing is a five fish limit tournament boaters fish against boaters and co-anglers fish against co-anglers. So the co-angler then meets the boater either at the ramp or at a pre-determined location. And the end of the tournament the co-angler brings the score sheet back and presents it to the scoring person. IN this case president Galen Smith.
Once the winners are declared their prizes are put into a envelope and given to their co-angler for the following Thursday when they come in to register.
So because there is no revealing of what the fish were caught on I can only tell you what I "heard". Which is not much. Crankbaits, Texas rigged worms and drop shots.
All of my bass for the last three weeks have come on one crankbait also including 3 catfish, 3 sand bass and a turtle, except for a 6+ caught on a drop shot. LOL

All fish 10" and up count as well as slot fish. Only their best 5 count.

First Place went to Curt Blount of Lake Fork with 7 bass for 18.28 LB. with a 5.08 lunker caught on a drop shot.
Second Place went to Jack White of Farmers Branch with 8 bass for 15.84 LB. with a 6.64 LB lunker.
Third Place went to Dennis Bubinas of Lake Fork with 5 bass for 15.20 LB with the boaters lunker of 7.95 LB.
Fourth Place went to Tim Gold of Mineola with 9 bass for 14.66 LB> with a 4.31 LB. lunker
Fifth Place went to Bill Ailes of Sulphur Springs with 8 bass for 14.24 LB. with a 4.87 LB. lunker.

First Place went to guest Jimmy Bright of ?? with 6 bass for 14.35 LB. with the co-angler lunker of 5.08 LB.
Second Place went to Doug Haeussler of Royce City with 8 bass for 10.63 LB. with a 4.49 LB. lunker.

So even thought the complaints of "tough fishing" are still circulating the guys managed to catch 135 keepers. There were three skunks, all co-anglers.
