Planning on meeting my brother and nephew who live in Midland, gonna fish Amon G. Carter a couple of days next week. Was hoping to get some information regarding any hazards to watch out for and what areas a boat can run on pad and where a boat shouldn't. Thank you in advance.

The lake is broken up into two parts the old side was impounded in the 50's and is well developed. You can run in the middle of the lake from the boat ramp at Selma Park to the dam, get near a point and shore and watch out there are some old stumps. The new side was impounded in 85 and has a lot of timber, I wouldn't run it if you have never been there as they left all of the standing timber there. Both sides have lots of rock. The new side has some hydrilla west of the boat ramp. New side throw a motor oil red flake power worms, old side throw blue fleck power worms. The lake is near normal level and should be clearing up, you should get a top water bite in the early morning hours.
