Is anyone fishing for catfish along the dam or behind it in the Spillway for Catfish? I have never fished on Lake Tawakoni and only Bank Fish. Can someone please help an old man out and give updates on where to fish for these cats? Also interested in Whites, Hybrids and Stripers. Thank you all for your help and direction.

Tawakoni is well known for big catfish. The area around the dam holds a lot of them as well as sand bass and stripers. I would imagine its the same story with the spillway. The spillway is always busy when I drive by, so it must be a pretty good spot. I’ve pulled some decent blues and channels out of Tawakoni recently using cut shad.

Never fished the dam but I've done well bank fishing in the state park. Fish the point out past the boat ramp. Also done well from our camp site when we get one on the water.
