It’s just a matter of time before my daughter hooks into a big bass at the ranch and will heart broken. Her zebco bullet would have a hard time with DD bass. So would these reels help a kid how to cast a baitcaster? And which one is the best value?
Thanks

Baitcasters can be tricky to learn how to use, and are completely different from one of those zebco reels. I would suggest a spinning reel as a great option for a kid to learn to use, as it will be a lot easier to learn than a baitcaster but will have more fighting power against bigger fish than one of those cheap push button reels.
If you do want to teach them how to use a baitcaster, the Abu Garcia BlackMax is a great starting point. At only $50 it’s a great value beginners reel.it is a very forgiving reel to learn on. If you adjust the magnetic braking and spool speed correctly, that reel is difficult to backlash.
Otherwise, Shimano offers an SLX DC and Curado DC with have digital braking. I haven't used one myself, but they say that reel is very good for compensating for operator error. Those come at a hefty price point though, around $200 give or take for something like that.

I don’t mind spending the money

In that case, I prefer Shimano baitcasters but have no issue with Daiwa either. Both are fantastic quality reels. Once you get to the $100+ price point, you will notice a massive increase in quality and and control over the reel compared to a less expensive reel. All of my baitcasters are Shimanos. The shimano braking system is really easy to set up and very effective against backlash. I own a Chronarch and several Curados and I can cast them both a mile. I also own a new SLX (standard model $100 one) and have been very impressed with it so far. It is probably the best quality reel to the dollar on the market right now and it has been very smooth and easy to use. The Tatulas like sketch suggested are going to be just as good as the Shimanos.
Plenty of great options in the $100-200 range. These latest generation of reels are so much easier to cast and smoother than the old reels used to be I don’t think there will be too much issue finding a great one to learn on, and with regular practice, she should be proficient at casting one in no time.

I have found that baitcasters with the dual-braking system are harder to backlash. Flourocarbon line plays into that as well - seems to backlash easier than say, Big Game.
Them that don't know him won't like him. And them that do sometimes won't know how to take him.

I ordered her a Shimano SLX 150 XT. Will mount on a Irod Genesis II Harolds Lone Star Legacy Rod. Will spool it with 15 or 20 biggame
