Who is the lawn care guy that also does sprinklers (?) that is always giving advice on here? I can't think of his name at all.
I was hoping he or anyone else could help me with some questions I have about some lawn products/schedule.

I'll post my questions here and hopefully get some more opinions as well as Bruce's.
My grass is St. Augustine and I'm in the Waco area.
The schedule I have been following is:
FEB 15 – PRE-EMERGENT APR 15 – FERTILIZER MAY 15 – PRE-EMERGENT JUNE 15 – FERTILIZER JULY 1 – GRUBEX AUG 15 – FERTILIZER SEPT 15 – PRE-EMERGENT OCT 15 – FERTILIZER
The products I have been using on the lawn are : 1. "Haltz Crabgrass & Grassy Weed Preventer" for PRE-EMERGENT 2. "Turf Builder Southern Lawn Food Heat &Drought" for FERTILIZER 3. GrubEx.
This year I switched to using Bonus S as fertilizer in APR and plan to use it in OCT.
My questions are: Can I still follow the same pre-emergent schedule? Or will using the Bonus S (with it's "weed killer") so close to using the pre-emergent damage my grass?

I use the same schedule with Bonus S and Barricade as pre-emergent. I've never had an issue. I tried skipping a year of pre-emergent to see what would happen. I would advise not to try that.

IMO your GrubEX timing is off. I'd bump that up a couple months. Chlorantraniliprole is the AI, so it's a preventative and last a pretty good time. I put mine down a few weeks ago. In a nutshell. When June Bugs do what they do and lay eggs a preventative will kill what hatches. If you missed that window your next best product is a Curative. Which is Dylox AI. Not hard to find. It will kill active Grubs. A lot of insecticides AI's will get bound up in our soils and not make it down far enough to kill what they need to. Dylox does the trick.

I use the same schedule with Bonus S and Barricade as pre-emergent. I've never had an issue. I tried skipping a year of pre-emergent to see what would happen. I would advise not to try that. Last year was the first time applying fertilizer in August. The stuff I use said something about you can use it year round but apply after 6 weeks of previous treatment or something like that. So I gave it a try. Didn't seem to hurt anything. Good to hear I can still keep the same schedule while using the Bonus S. Do you use the Bonus S for all three of your fertilizer applications?

I've been winging it with that stuff. Can't really tell a difference or not. Maybe that's why. What time frame do you recommend applying it near other application of fertilizer/pre-emergents or does it matter? What dylox "brand" do you recommend? Would it hurt anything to put both types down?

Winging it is for rookies. And yes it matters with pre emerg and insects. Check us out in the DIY Forum. To answer your non grub question. No. It won't hurt. Just make sure you don't mix them together. Same day apps. Separate app. Like most granulars, they must be watered in.
