Well the good ole Opti finally locked up early this year so I re-powered the Sea Flight with a much quieter more fuel efficient 4-stroke just in time for my favorite months of the year, April and May.

Cedar Creek hybrid fishing really started picking up steam last year and she's bustin loose this year! There is a great class of 17"-19" fish in the lake with plenty of rouge schools of 24-25" fish as well. The whites seem to be exceptionally large this year as well.

The early morning bulkhead bite was strong with fish scattered all over the lake the entire month of April. The May transition to structure edges is taking place now with heavy concentrations of fish roaming the edges of Crappie Island flats.

Mid lake has been pretty stained but clears up a little more every day, so the spillway hump should heat up quickly.

I've seen a lot of nice new center consoles on CC this year. Great to know that the striped fish are in high demand on CC. Keep us stocked TPWD!

I'll be running as many trips as possible on weekends and weekday evenings, so if you want to learn how to target hybrids or fill the cooler with whites give me a should!

As always my brother Michael is doing his thing on Livingston and Conroe as well. Give us a follow on our Facebook page Lake Livingston Adventures for daily reports.

Also, if you haven't given the 2oz flutter jig from RSR lures at try you're missing out. Great way to pick off the hybrids in mixed schools of whites.

Great Family Fun!

Hey Chris,

I went with a Suzuki. Hard to beat the price and we like dealing with the dealer in Houston. Hopefully it turns out to be a good decision. Most of my buddies have had good experiences with theirs, but I don't really know anyone with more than 3 years experience.
