 XI5 foot pedal issues

Trolling motor is fully functional, anchor lock works great and runs like it should. The foot pedal will not turn the motor to the left., to the point where I had to manually turn it by hand to get it to run to the left. Press the foot pedal to the right and works perfectly. Anyone else have this experience? Any advise is much appreciated and thanks.
