Made a quick trip to Lake Mcqueeney with my buddy Jeff the other day. We fished from 7am till 10am. Caught a few crappie holding on some brush piles in 10 feet of water. Caught about 10 nice sunnies which included Bluegill and Redear. They were caught in 3 to 6 feet of water . A couple of bass and one Rio rounded out the catch. Boat and jet ski traffic started to pick up around 10am and Jeff had an appointment at 1p so we called it a day. The over all bite was good. Jigs Chartreuse/Pink and White/Red Rooster Tails where the baits used. All fish were released ! All in all a good day. woot

I do not know about New Braunfels water ways but the Dunlap River Bottom is open. You can count anywhere between 20 to 50 kayaks a day on Dunlap. There are also some small motor boats not to mention the bank anglers. I also know that New Braunfels has opened up their parks and you can fish there as well. As for the ramp under I-35 I do know at one time it was closed. I have several places on Dunlap that I can launch. I fished Dunlap a couple of weeks ago. It was a circus. Lots of kayaks on the water.

Side Note: Myself and Rick aka Catyakker have a pretty good spot on Mcqueeney and lately we both have been seeing increasing boat traffic! Even a jet flea or two also. juggle

Rumor is that the property owners on Dunlap are going to help fund the repairs and help manage the lake. Somewhat similar to Lake Mcqueeney. Only exception is that the public ramp under I-35 will remain open to the public.
Repairs are supposed to start early 2021. Got a feeling that the Corona Virus will change the repair date. noidea

You can also really get to know the lake a whole lot better by taking pictures of the area that is now out of water before it fills back up!

Side Note: I think before you sink brush piles or any other structures on the Guadalupe River you need a permit by the GBRA to do so. For what I have heard that is impossible to get!
