In Port Aransas, we have many winter Texans come to fish for saltwater all winter long. Their favorite are Trout, Redfish, and Sheepshead. I have 2 from Alaska who will take Sheepshead over any other inland species. They fish daily from the jetties and their wives enjoy looking at the beach!

Your BIL doesn't fish?

IMO your best bet is to keep posting here and make a couple new friends. Then set up a fishing date with 2-3 other guys that live here.

PB flathead 34.5 lbs - I know it's small but it was still the record for Lake Travis when I caught it!
PB Blue 58.5 lbs jugline 43.5 lbs on R&R which was the other Lake Travis record when caught.
