Went to Sam Rayburn last week and jumped in the boat with Todd Castledine. Shot a really cool video on catching bass on a small popper. Hope you like it!

I wish I could fish it right now! I did hear they were up shallow on a Popping Perch right now. White in color. Might give it a shot!

i visited TW in san luis obispo last summer, and among other items i got goofy and bought an $18 lure. now, all i've thrown for 6+ years has been topwaters. totally addicted to it. they have to be clear, and about 4-5in. the guy brought one out and i got it! too scared to throw it till a coupla 3 weeks ago! i mean, $18! it has utterly destroyed all the topwater lures i own, and it's not even close. well, maybe the azuma z dog is close, but that's it. heddon, yo zuri, sammy, skimmer, etc. all get crushed by this $18 lure. i never would have dreamed a lure could be this incredible. but it is. it can do a wide walk, or a short walk (my choice is short and active) and it has 2 small cheeks on the side that stick out and make the plop sound, and it sounds exactly like bait fish jumping for their lives. the clear finish has a ton of flash. i have 18 yo zuri's new in box, along with a bunch of yamamoto tops, and a bunch of other stuff, with i dont know how many dollars invested (shocking, i know...) and after using this lure, and switching with others in the same situations to confirm what i'm experiencing, it's a blowout. if you're into topwaters like i am (i fish every morning for 4 hours, and that's all i throw) you might try this lure. my buddy throws heddon spook jr in clear, and this thing beat him 21-1 one morning, same area, (we hopscotched around each other) etc. it's stunning! i know, i know...$18. what was i thinking? heck, i was at tackle warehouse! got a reel and 2 z dogs...then he brings this lure out. i didnt even choke at the price. i did clear my throat, tho... you must get it in clear! i did get the skeleton chartreuse later, and it's not quite as effective. just ordered 3 more clear, lol. i dont know how to post pics, but just google it up on images.
evergreen sb 105.

Rio Rico has to be my favorite popper, and a shout out to one ol' Thad turned me on to, that 3/8 oz Yellow Magic Plus 1. Hard to find but a dang good bait.

I hope you liked it. I remember owning my first Yellow Magic. I still have it to this day, although it’s unrecognizable.

Is that the old long skinny one? I heard about Thad, sad deal. He was a good guy.
