I’m in the mood to upgrade my rod mix.

Am very interested in the St Croix tourney legend series only because I know they are made in USA and their warranty is excellent.

Was also looking at the GLX Loomis but leaning towards the St Croix.

What other high end rods am I passing up?

Daiwa’s Steez, Shimano’s Conquest, Phenix’s K2, Loomis’ Edge, Megabass’ Destroyer, and Fenwick’s Class are other companies series that are considered super high end gear.

No one usually considers TFO high end but they do make some quality rods. Also if you don’t want to have a 5 page thread about what warranty you thought you were getting you can’t beat theirs. Headquarters in DFW

TFO is Chinese. That’s like a cuss word nowadays.
Their office is right around the corner from Southwest Service. An authorized GLoomis, Edge, Shimano, Daiwa, and Falcon rod dealer. The GLoomis, Edge, Shimano Conquest(made in part by GLoomis) are Made in USA, the Falcons are slowly starting to be fluent in Chinese, the Steez rods are a combination of Japanese and Maylasia. Most of these have excellent warranties.

I Love my St. Croix Tourney Legends! Have about 15 so far. I've tried their next level up and while they are more sensitive I don't like that grip/handle.

Now that being said I just recently bought a Doybns Champion rod and dang I really like it too!!

Excellent customer service from TFO.
My son bought a tfo fly rod/reel2 days, late on a Friday, before leaving to work in Alaska for the summer. He discovered the reel had an issue and contacted TFO who arranged to get a replacement to a nearby shop so he would have it for his trip.
During summer he lost 2 sections of the rod during a bear encounter. Took the remainder of the rod in, they looked it over and replaced the whole thing for a very nominal fee. Warranty and customer support are awesome.

I can say I have a GLX and absolutely love it, just pricey! Most sensitive rod I have ever used. IMX PRO is great also. My next choice other than GLoomis would be Powell.

Definitely take a look at ALX Rods Zolo or Enox lineup. Both made in America with lifetime warranties.

Waterloo - Made in Texas. Big time with the coastal guys but they do have some crossover. Solid warranty and customer service.

Dobyn's are Chinese made junk IMO.

Kistler Z-bone made in Conroe area. Trey Kistler is a fisherman and great to work with. Trey helped build Castaway rod company before starting his own company.

St. Croix, Powell, Shimano, Lew's, Falcon, and Daiwa all make a good rod. Look at a few reviews from customers that have already fished them. You will learn a lot about fishing tackle that way. Stay away from ANYTHING made in China, Dobyn's included.
